Description
A straight blade with perforating teeth ground along one edge, producing a consistent tear line rather than a full cut — used wherever a package or a sheet needs to separate cleanly by hand.
Tooth pitch, depth and angle are set to your material and required tear strength, from fine perforation on tissue to coarser teeth on board and laminate. Available in HSS, tool steel or stainless.
Manufacturing
Teeth are ground individually to a consistent pitch and depth after the blade is hardened, so the tear line stays uniform across the full length of the edge. Every blade is inspected before dispatch.
Frequently asked questions
How is tooth pitch chosen?
It depends on your material and the tear strength you need — finer pitch for a softer tear on tissue, coarser pitch where the material is thicker or stiffer. Send a sample and we will recommend a pitch.
Can the perforation be combined with a full cut on the same blade?
Yes, a blade can carry both perforating and plain-cutting sections where your process calls for it.
